BCSRC Training Grounds

Due to the lack of use, the members of the BCSRC voted not to renew the lease on the Club training grounds between Snook and Somerville. This decision was reached at the March 20th, 2007 meeting, and the lease has expired as of May 1st, 2007.

After much careful concern, discussion, and emotional debate, a motion was made and amended to not renew the Club Training Grounds, based mainly on the fact that very few members took advantage of the privilege, and that those monies could be better spent on other club activities that would better benefit all Club Members. The motion was seconded and a vote was taken. The vote was unanimous to not renew the lease on the current property. The meeting was well attended and represented by a fair mix of new and veteran members. Putting it plainly, the decision to not renew the lease on the training grounds was based purely on logical common sense, and the best interest of the majority of the members of the BCSRC.

The lack of Club training grounds should have little impact on training opportunities for Club members. The BCSRC is fortunate to have numerous landowner members who welcome others to come join them in training opportunities. In addition, there are numerous other activities scheduled throughout the year, such as Judging/handlers seminars, and training days with specific agendas. There are also training sessions scheduled to help ladies who are interested in the sport.
